Meet Mendocino, our newest collection that helps to stop the cycle of polluting our oceans, made with yarn spun from ocean-bound recycled plastic provided by our partner Plastic Bank. The organization works with bottle collectors in local coastal communities to recover and recycle plastic bottles, then we repurpose them into bright and brilliant designs. The results are functional, timeless totes with big impact.
CONSCIOUSLY CRAFTED
The process starts in Indonesia with Plastic Bank’s bottle collectors, who receive a premium fee for the materials they collect that further helps them provide basic family necessities such as groceries, school tuition and health insurance.
Once the plastic is collected, Plastic Bank reprocesses the materials for reintroduction into the supply chain. Bottles are chopped into flakes, which are then melted into chips and extruded into fiber.

IMPACT
- Totes from the collection range from a mid-size to an extra-large version, where we track how many bottles are used in the production of each style. The extra-large tote is made from 14 ocean-bound plastic bottles; the large is made from 12 ocean-bound plastic bottles; the medium is made from 8 ocean-bound plastic bottles.
- Plastic Bank has recycled over 22,000 tons of plastic, runs 320 active bank locations and has funded 105 school programs in the countries they operate in.
