I love the feel and look of the leather. It a nice size bag. Also the pockets inside and out, some zipper, elastic top, and open. Nice interior fabric. I like the length of the strap. My problem is the straps must be moved into place several times a day. One side of the strap continues to twist. I did try to keep the strap in place by a safety pin. I've been asking friends for suggestions. I went back to the store where I purchased it but to no avail. I hope the company finds a solution. I plan to buy another Sak but a different style.

I loved the idea of this bag working as both a backpack and crossbody but it didn't work as well as I thought it would. The adjustable strap constantly slips so it needs readjusting all the time. Also, the leather did not stay looking good and has a cheap appearance. The magnetic closure snap busted on the outside flap and essentially makes this bag unusable. I tried to get the company to help me out with the closure but apparently they will only help me if I bought the bag online. The Sak has poor customer service and does not guarantee their bags. Don't waste your money! This bag is fairly pricey but because of a defective magnetic closure I can no longer use it.

I already left a review about the poor quality of the Ventura bag and awful customer service. It gets worse. The SAK emailed me (three months ago) and asked me to return the bag to them (sent me prepaid label) . I spent time returning the bag to them. At the very minimum, I assumed that they would replace the leather bag or offer me another choice. I could not believe it when after receiving the bag, they emailed me and asked if I had a receipt. I had since lost it. A name like SAK you would think you could trust them. I have not heard from them since and they did not return the bag I sent them or offer me a new one. Their motto of trust is worthless. When a company asked that you return a black bag that is clearly theirs that back finish rubbed off and ignores you - there is something very wrong about mgt and their products. I have been trying to reach customer service and each time I am left on hold for over and hour. Stay away from this company.

I purchased the black ventura bag and after a month the finish started rubbing off and turning green. I called customer service and Jean in customer service said she could do nothing as I needed to have ordered it online. Terrible bag will not buy a bag from the sak again

I received this purse as a gift instead of the Duluth LIfetime Leather Backpack. BIG mistake! After one week of use it looks like I've had it for 10 years. Complete waste of money!

I have been looking for a backpack that I could use instead of a purse for over a year. This one is pretty close to perfect. I love the leather. I agree with the other reviewers that a top grip handle would be very convenient. If I'm picking it up to just go from house to car I just sling both handles over one shoulder. The only other complaint I have is that I would like to see a key leash so I could hook my keys for easier location. I'll never use it as a cross body because I have back problems and the weight of something hanging on just one side hurts my back. So far I'm happy with my bag. This is my first SAK bag and so far I'm not disappointed.

I never thought I'd live to see a perfect bag. This isn't it, but it's close. I *love* the backpack / shoulder combo concept, but it's not quite there yet. This needs a top handle for a quick pickup and move, and a better manor for switching from backpack to shoulder sack. Can I order extra straps? I'd like to get a few and mess around with them and see if I can come up with a better solution.

I really, really wanted to like this bag. Having a bag that easily converts from backpack to crossbody would be amazing. Unfortunately, this one just doesn't cut it. The straps have a leather piece that is supposed to keep the straps sort of even but after a short amount of time the leather softens to the point that they just slide back and forth, imagine a backpack with uneven straps and you'll know what I'm talking about. Also, the really big disappointment was the front snap. I bought the bag and 3 days later the front snap closure broke, rendering it totally impractical for me, it basically made it into a one compartment bag because the snap kept everything from falling out of the front pocket. Customer service was great and sent me a new bag but low-and-behold, the same thing happened with both the straps and the snap.

This is a very attractive bag with great features...in concept. I gave it a high rating but it didn't work out for me which was very disappointing. It's a great bag if you have light bulky things (e.g. sweater, etc) to carry. It's handy as a shoulder, cross-body, or backpack - that's what really sold me on it. It will even fit a small laptop (my 13" didn't quite fit which I knew when I purchased it but it was off by only about 1"). The leather is beautiful. Here are suggestions to improve on the concept (I'd love to have what this bag is trying to be): 1. Anchor the straps so when one tries to sling it on as a backpack, the straps don't get all caught, making it almost impossible to get settled on the shoulders if the load is somewhat heavy - integrate decorative hooks like the ones on the mini-Pax bag to help with this? 2. Add a grip handle to the top so one doesn't have to awkwardly grasp both straps just to lift it a short distance. 3. Make a slightly larger version to fit a small profile 13" laptop.

This bag is excellent quality and very functional. Prior to purchasing this bag I had been trying to decide between a messenger and backpack style--but decide no more! I now have both! My only issue with it is that it tends to bunch up when worn as a messenger bag which can be slightly annoying, but is definitely outweighed by the overall convenience of the style. One of the magnets fell off my bag so I contacted customer service hoping for some help...And I received a response within 5 minutes of my email. I'm very impressed. This company is great.

I bought this bag and I loved it. The front closure snap broke and I have made several attempts to reach the customer service. I have NEVER received a response. Very unhappy this company and their products, I will not be recommending them.

I am not sure about the other reviews but I absolutely love this bag! It is a perfect transition from backpack to shoulder bag and just the right size. I am 5'7" and do not have any trouble with the length of the straps. I love it!

I am conflicted with this bag. First of all, it's a great size - not too big or small, and has nice pockets and compartments. The papaya color is so cute and I would get lots of compliments on it. The coolest feature of this bag is that it can be a back-pack style, or a purse strap style. But this feature is also the deal-breaker: the rings that adjust and slide the straps into place do not hold the straps securely. This creates an annoying problem as the purse loses its structure and bunches up from the straps slipping. You can adjust it back in place, but a few seconds later it will just fall back into a scrunch. I am short, so this purse hangs to my knees because the straps won't stay secure. I look ridiculous! One other thing, the fabric on the straps pills and can look kind of cheap. I bought this bag at dillards for $120, and it can't be returned since I've had it about 45 days now. I give the bag 5 stars for looks but 0 stars for the strap functionality, which renders my bag useless :(

I purchased this bag for a trip to Europe. I really liked everything about it except for the design of the cross body strap. The rings would not hold the strap in place, therefore it would always slip, and since I am not very tall, the bag would end up at my knees. I felt like I was constantly tugging on the straps to adjust it and it made it very uncomfortable while I was walking around. I had planned on purchasing this in another color, but after this experience, I would not suggest it and will shop around for a different bag.
