America SCORES Bay Area
For more than a decade, The Sak Brand Group has been a proud sponsor of America SCORES Bay Area, where founder Mark Talucci serves as chair of the board of directors. America SCORES Bay Area uses the power of soccer to help urban youth to learn valuable academic and social skills. To play on an America Scores soccer team, students must participate in literacy workshops where they learn to express themselves in positive ways and to use their words to bring about positive change. With teamwork as the unifying value, Scores inspires youth to lead healthy lifestyles, be engaged students, and to give back to their communities.

The Brooke Jackman Foundation
A portion of the proceeds of The Sak’s Betty Sue Collection is donated to The Brooke Jackman Foundation, founded after the events of 9/11. The Brooke Jackman Foundation is a non-profit organization focused on improving literacy among at-risk children in the New York area. Founded in response to the 9/11 attacks that claimed the life of 23yr old Brooke Jackman, the foundation gives out thousands of “Brooke’s Books” and “Brooke Packs” annually, and establishes libraries and literacy programs for underprivileged children, including victims of domestic violence and children living in homeless shelters. They provide over 10,000 books to kids annually and have distributed nearly 100,000 books since the foundation began in 2001. To learn more visit www.brookejackmanfoundation.org
